To cover or not to cover?

Would like some opinions from the MOC on whether it is necessary to cover my Goodyear 614's when we are stationary for more than a week. We are full timers and workamp where our assignments last 3-4 months at a time. Thoughts?

We cover our tires when set up for a couple of weeks or more. Protection from the sun cannot be bad for them and most folks do use covers.

what the heck why not? I do not because I live in western WA st and it never gets too hot too often AND my slides when they are out cover my tires and they are in the shade and even if I parked it for a week with the slides in I would not bother and never had a problem .If I lived in Arizona or anywhere South then you bet I would

We cover ours when we are stationary for more than a week. A retired tire engineer at an Escapee Boot Camp convinced us that it was a good idea. The tire companies add things to protect against the sun but other things will remove it. When you park on concrete for long periods of time and don't put a plastic placemat or something under the tire you get a black mark on the concrete when you leave. According to the engineer that's the sunblock stuff that the concrete causes to leave the tire.

We cover ours between trips and while stored for winter, but our outings are never more than a week, so I leave the covers home.
