Fantastic Fan Cover ?? Which One ????

Alright, undecided between 2 covers for my Fantastic Fans, one is made by Fantastic Fan Co itself, and it is the only one that they reccomend for the Fantastic Fan, and the other is made by MAXAIR, which is the FAN MATE, which is also highly recomended by them to be used for the Fantastic Fans. Price difference, $50 for the Fantastic Fan one, and $75 for the MAX AIR one. They are both removable to clean inside if necessary. The one made by Fantastic Fan utilizes 4 of the original screws to fasten brackets to the fan and the cover then also fastens to these brackets, and the MAXAIR needs holes to be drilled to the sidewall of the vent to mount brackets to it and then the cover fastens to these brackets as well. I would like to know if anyone has any pros or cons to either or both of these vent covers. Thanks in advance !!

I've had the Max air on mine since 2004 and have not had issue. I'll go with the same one when it comes time to trade the coach. Also be sure to look at warranty. I believe that the Max air vent covers have a better warranty.

I went with three of the Maxxair IIs. Twice as much vent area as the original:

We use Maxair's and wouldn't be without them. That being said, I don't believe Fantastic Fan made covers when we bought our rig.

My first post with the group, just joined last week. I have/had both covers. The Fantastic Fan unit is built better then the Maxair which is less weight. I had a problem with the removable wingnuts used to hold down the Fantastic cover corroding and had to cut the off. I called the Fantastic folks whom said they have since changed those galvanized nuts to black powder -coated nuts. If you buy their unit, inspect the package for these. They sent me replacements; had them in 3 days. I am now outfitting my new 3582 (6 days old) and I have gone with the Fantastic units as I feel they are built better.

Well, I bought 2 of the Fantastic vent covers, they were on sale at Campingworld for $49.99 and they took a total of 10 minutes to put them both on and I am very pleased with them! For anyone out there who decides to get these covers for their Fantastic Fan, I do recommend them! All that is needed to be done to install them is to remove 4 of the existing screws that hold the fan unit to the roof, the 2nd one in from each side, which is exactly 4 1/2" from the edge of the mounting flange, put a dab of sealer in each screw hole, install the mounting brackets with the longer screws that are supplied, put a little sealer on top of these screws and then just place the cover on top of the installed brackets, which is held on with 4 washers and cotter pins, which makes it easy to remove completely if needed to access the inside of the fan unit. Pretty simple !!
