Calgon should have no effect on the enymes in your system. Calgon is chelating agent- ie it attaches itself- to the minerals in water that make it hard. that is it sucks the calcium, magnesium, etc up and leaves just nice soft water just as a water softener in your house does. The enzymes will still work the way they are supposed to.
Gosh, I guess 4 years of college chemistry did pay off.
That's good to hear, thanks. I'm going to give some a try.

I am looking at the bottle and it doesn't say what the ingredients are. Just says that it's a "water softener". There is a website and phone number: www.calgon.us 1-800-228-4722
Hope that helps

Wife brought home 2 liquid calgon bottles,
One is a Calgon water Softner and the other a Calgon ageless bath mix. I take it the water softner is what to use??

Yes the water softener is what you want to use.

I got the powdered version because that's all I could find at the time. Any idea how much of the powder to use?

Thanks!

Dissolve 2 cups of powdered water softener in a gallon of hot water and add to black tank. Adding 1 cup of laundry detergent to the tank also helps.

Thanks Don! I hadn't heard about the laundry detergent. Some had said they use Dawn dish soap though along with the Calgon...
