I thought I remembered someone posting a problem with squeaky floors but did not find anything under this category. So here's my problem.

We have a 2002 3295RK. At our current site we are getting a squeak out of our floor around the floor register nearest to the door. It is just a small "click" or squeaking sound. The strangest part is that it ONLY seems to occur at night! The rig is relatively level side to side and front to back. We are on asphalt. We use lumber for our leveling blocks under the wheels and landing gear. We looked under the rig to see if we could see anything but nothing out of the ordinary.

If anyone can shed any light on this problem we would really appreciate it.

Not with that one, but sometimes we have had squeaks around the bathtub. Al got down there, pushing around on the tub and the floor, discovered it was the plastic of the tub rubbing on the floor. We used one of our old solutions for squeaky hardwood floors, a little talc powder, you know, like baby powder. Applied to the area, wipe up the excess. Squeak is reduced to almost nothing. Might be hard with stuff around carpet, but works pretty good on hardwood, and other non-carpeted areas. Lasts quite a while too.

We have an 05 2955 that we bought in September and the floors squeak at the foot of the bed by the clothes closet. When we return home from our winter in Florida we'll drop it off at the dealer and see what they can do about that.

Dennis, I really don't have a clue but wonder if maybe the vent cover is not fully seated? Maybe there's just enough give there to cause that squeak? Probably a long shot.

Now that we're discussing gremlins, we've had one since day one that only occurs in very cold weather. It's not a squeak, it's a snap that makes me think of the aluminum frame. When I step off the bedroom floor onto the bath area floor in cold (say below 35F or so) there's a brief snap that sounds like it's echoing throughout the rig. After it does this it won't do it again for a couple of hours. Come to think of it, this would be the same area where we see that gap when hitched up, the one Keystone is going to check out for us when we get there in May.

We have a squeeky bedroom floor from time to time. We have soft spot in the floor near the register across from the oven. Dealer checked with Keystone and they supposedly said that was normal??????
The adhesive is not holding in a small area in my opinion. I intend to contact Keystone for a better explanation.

Just a thought...since it is only at night, has the furnace been running? And not running in the daytime? Could be a function of expansion (heat caused) near the heat outlet in that particular area. Again, just a thought..The "ONLY at night" is the puzzlement...

You're right PJ.... that is a puzzlement. Does not make any difference whether the furnace is running or not. And it is more of a "click" than an actual squeak. But whatever it is it just started at our last stop. Perhaps when we set up at our next site there will be no problem. We leave for home on the first so will know in a few days.

If it is still there when we get home then we'll make arrangements to get it into Stiers for their assessment.

New here, really enjoy this site. We had a floor squeak right in front of the shower on our '04' 3295RK when we picked it up, took it back to the dealer twice before they finally got it fixed (don't know what they did, but it doesn't squeak anymore).

Ha, ha.... You could be right.... and he must have gotten out because it's not doing it any more.

Must have just been the way it was set up. We get some strange little sounds from time to time. Just checked it out here at home and no noise.

Are you folks still in Atlanta?

Our squeeks in the kitchen in front of the sink/stove area. The floor actually sags a bit. When first discovered, the dealer said they put some wedges under to support better... but still squeeks and sags a bit. Probably needs more support around the register....
