Getting ready to buy...need advise

Getting ready to order a Montana 3455. I have a 2008 F350 6.4l 4x4 SB CC SRW.

The Montana comes with the MorRyde pin box and I'm thinking of the 16k Pullrite Superglide. I know that the radiused front cap gives about 80 degrees, but I don't want to have any clearance problems at all.

The alternative I guess is the Sidewinder with a 5th Airborne and a more normal hitch.

Any advise on the two options or any other alternatives that I should consider are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We have the 16k superglide..works great...some maintenance is required..only drawback is that you basically must be straight to be able to unhook and hook up your camper..its like 15 degree tolerance..plus on the morRyde you will not get any side to side movement ..only front to back...it is a really nice hitch..have had mine going on 6 years with no problems whatsoever...it has helped me get out of a few tight spots as well...you may also have to adjust the height to miss the sides of the truck bed in a real 90 degree turn...or alter the rear of the morRyde hitch as some people have....it is the only hitch I have owned or towed with so we cant offer any other advice....I will buy another one when we need one...probably upgrade and go with the 18k model...enjoy your new montana...we certainly love ours...

Assuming you have a short-bed (6 1/2'), I also recommend the Superglide. I would go with the 18K version simply because I like to have that extra margin of safety that the 18K hitch would give me while pulling a 14.5K trailer. I currently have a B&W Turnover Ball Companion Hitch in my long-bed Dodge. I had a Pull-Rite Superglide with my first Montana and would buy it again if I needed a sliding hitch.

Good luck.

One of the nice things about the Morryde hitch with the Superglide hitch is they have a plate for purchase that attaches to the hitch plate using the 4 bolts on the hitch. This will allow for a quick removal IF someone without a Superglide needs to tow your 5'r. I have had my Superglide for 4 years and it has saved me a couple of times. It is heavy and takes up a large amount of space in the bed, but well worth it as far as I am concerned. You can take out the pins that hold the top hitch part of the Superglide and pull out from under the pin if the angle is to acute. I have done this once or twice.

I suggest going with the Superglide - I used the 16K with my short bed Chevy and loved not having to worry about the truck and coach coming in contact with each other. The higher cost of the Superglide will be more than offset if you had to repair the back of your truck or front nose on the coach in that "unexpected contact".

+++ on the Superglide. I've used mine for one season with zero problems. Smooth and solid. Best of luck with whatever you choose!

Thanks for the info folks. I've come across an interesting option. Has anyone had any experience with the TrailerSaver air hitch? It's made by Hensley and they have a quality rep. They have two units that are interesting; the Ts3 and the BD3. Apparently it has a manual slider option. Any experience or comments would be welcome.
