I may have a solution!
I wanted a bike rack I could use while towing the Monty but nobody made one. I had a 3 bike rack that was too tall. I took a grinder and removed the 2" hitch and bracing from the bike rack. Then I cut off 8" from the bottom of the rack using a tubing cutter. Then I welded the 2" hitch and bracing back onto the bicycle rack. Put the hitch in the receiver and so far it seems to work. I took a couple of test dummy bicycles and brought them on the progressive rally. The only time I've come close to having a problem is when pulling up a steep driveway skirting. I still had about 2" clearance from the tires to the ground but it looked scary. I have a 2004 Chevy short bed with a Superglide hitch. The bikes never come close to contacting the Monty.
