Dan Gamel Modesto "Gone"

I was out checking on the Monty today. Drove past the Dan Gamel Dealer in Modesto off of Hwy 99. The lot is vacant of rv's and the gates were closed. As far as I know, Don's RV in Ceres on Hwy99 south of Modesto is still open. They are a Montana Dealer and have srevice and parts there.

I read that Gamel had claimed bankruptcy. He didn't have the best reputation. He also had a dealership in Morgan Hill. Perhaps the economy is a way of getting rid of the bad ones.

At one time Dan Gamel was the forth largest RV dealer in the nation and now has one large dealership left in Anderson, CA. His new plan is to open stores in shopping malls and the entrance will look like the back end of a RV and RVs will be sold in the stores and over the internet. Don't know about anybody else, but I won't be going to a mall to buy a RV.

I think the whole GAMEL network of dealers is gone. HQ in Fresno--Gamel sold out 2-3 years ago, but his name remaied.

and yes DON's RV in Ceres ( South of Modesto ) is a Montana dealer, we bought our 319 BHD from them, see RICH in service he's a big help.
