Send HamRad an Email directly thru the Hospital!

Send a personalized e-mail message to Dennis Hill (HamRad) while he is in the hospital!!

Use the link at the bottom of this post to take you directly to the hospital email system.

You just need to know the patient's name (Dennis Hill) and his room number (416) to use this handy system the hospital has set up.

The emails will be hand delivered to patients Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.

E-mails received over the weekend or a holiday will be delivered the next business day but we don't know if Dennis will still be there on Monday so....

Emails should be sent by about 2pm (or so) pacific time TODAY (10/10)
so they can be delivered before 4pm today.

Outcome of the surgery: Dennis' surgery went very well. The surgeon said Dennis' bones were in great shape and the surgeon was ecstatic with the outcome. I'm sure Mary Kay will update us soon. Or, once they take away the pain-medication-on-demand-device from Dennis, he'll come on to update us. When I talked with Dennis, he was still "flying high" and more than likely won't remember our phone conversation.

Doug/Sharon.... I edited my post above to include some info about Dennis' surgery. It all went well.... and even better than the surgeon expected. Dennis is supposed to be in there 3 days, but I don't know if that includes the day of the surgery (Thursday), or if it means 3 days after the surgery.

Margee.

Done! Great system. All hospitals should have that service.

I just don't know how the nurses are going to handle 8000 emails!!!!(Nice thought)

Doug and Margee,

Thank you! The service does indeed work well. And you are correct I do not remember us talking! I was still on the really good "joy juice"!

Wayne, they did not have any trouble dealing with the 8000 posts! Actually it was more like 18!

And to everyone who posted and or communicated your concern! I truly appreciate your caring.

I continue to improve .... There is little pain involved. Of course I'm still getting some good drugs to help with any pain that does show up. Mostly just surgical pain is left. A bit of stiffness in the hip area but amazingly very little of the "true" hip pain is left. I am so happy and a thousand thanks to everyone who told me that this would happen! Thank you, thank you.

I will be going home tomorrow, Sunday, barring any unforeseen problems. I can hardly wait to see my "boys". I have really missed them! Unfortunately we had to place them in a kennel. But it is at our vets so we are very confident in them. They are really good!

Dennis

On Edit: Added the "boys" comment and the update on condition.

Cool! You sound very positive. Going home is always nice.

We are on a cruise ship on the Mexican coast headed to Matzalan. Water is a bit rough and going to get rougher as it looks like we are on a collision course with Tropical Storm Odile. Dennis, I'll bring you back some castanets(sp?) and we'll have a dance party at the Lake Siskiyou rally in your honor and let you start off the first dance!!

Take care....
Margee.

Margee,

I'm glad you're on another cruise but NOT into a hurricane! That's what I heard it was at last report! I'm even surprised they are taking a ship into harms way. Besides many of the towns and ports of call will be heavily damaged from the storm!

Anyway we are home.

Doing fair but certainly looking forward to the walk at Shasta!

Enjoy your cruise.

See you soon.

Dennis

Dennis: Glad to hear everything went well. It'll not be long 'til you're dancing again. Just don't bend over and touch your toes just yet. My Dr. gets apoplectic when I do that.

Dennis,
Isn't it nice to know that you have 18 friends?

I'm happy I have one - thanks.(But he keeps changing)
