Stair hand rail picture link.
This is simple to do. These are Stanley Heavy Duty rail brackets bought at Home Depot.
Make sure the bottom bracket is back enough to allow the sliding door to close. There is 3 screws in each bracket and I was able to get one solid member on each bracket. My Plan "B " was to mount an oak panel on the back side of the wall in the toilet room or the computer closet and screw right through. I didn't have to.
Now the bottom sliding door will just slide by the rail and the toilet door at the top will touch the end of the top rail if it is opened extremely wide. To avoid marking either door I have bought adhesive clear pads that I will stick on the rail ends when the urethane fully cures.
If you do this, mount the brackets, attach the rail before you cut it.
Let the ends run by and use the sliding door to guide your bottom cut and make your top cut flush with the door trim. Take care, Don.

Sure a nice install job Don. I think you might have a few members who would like you to install one in their coach.

Dave, I don't have a green card so I can't work for money but I can work for beer.
I love the USA and both my grandfathers were American and I have heard that with this background
I could get a green card. I hope it is true.

Nice work, Don. How much beer does it take? Oh, and is homebrew OK?

Actually even a cup of coffee is all it would take to enjoy a visit with all the nice people on this forum . Take care and God Bless You.
Home brew is fine, I used to make homebrew but now I just make wine.

Thanks to all of you fine folks for the comments and I want to say I was pleased at how well the little hand rail goes with the Monty and now it seems like it was always there.
The true value of this hand rail is not in it's looks but in it's function. I have been out in the Monty everyday this week and going up and down the stairs is so much safer feeling with a hand on the rail going up or going down.
I have been so fortunate in my 36 year career in the pulp and paper industy never to have had a lost time accident but I have been a safety meeting chairman and the number of accidents on stairs, even little ones like our Montanas, is very high.
People have torn shoulder muscles and suffered other slow healing injuries just tripping and falling on stairs. Not just old people, young people too. I was really motivated to get this done quickly because my 79 year old Dad has a real problem on stairs without a rail.
Anyway , if you are not inclined to do this type of work, I am sure you could get this done for very little money and you could save your Spouse, Yourself, or a visitor from a nasty fall.
Take care and be safe, Don.

Great job! What stain did you use? Looks like a perfect match with the Montana woodwork. Thinking of adding some shelving myself and would save me from having to experiment.

John, I used Minwax WoodFinish color 245 Golden Pecan. I wiped on 3 coats with a rag as per instructions and then I did 3 coats of Flecto Varathane Clear Satin 1100 sanding lightly between coats. I use the disposable foam brushes for this.
Both of these products are very easy to use and my favorite finish on oak is just the clear satin varathane. Every coat slightly darkens oak and this is how I finished my new oak staircase in my stick house. That was my most challanging wood work project and I spent over a thousand dollars on oak posts, spindles and rails so , the old saying, measure twice and cut once.................
with this stuff I measured 4 times and doing the math so the spacing on the spindles ends up perfect had me use the internet for getting some easy instructions and now I wonder how I built this house 28 years ago before we had an internet. Take care.
