Tire Blowout(s) Again
I rplaced my Tacoma's (LT 235/85/R16) after 5 years (just old age) with Goodyear Marathon LT235/80/R16's (made in China)in June 2009 based on a couple recommendations. I think it was a mistake. I had about 5K miles on them when 2 of the tires blew, one on each side. What are experiences with the Marathons? I am currently working with Goodyear to try and get replacements. Any recommendations? Right about now I don't feel to safe with 50% of the tires blown in only 5K miles and 2 years. Thanks, Jim

Run from the Marathons. They are referred to here as Chinabombs.

Many threads on this site about Chinabombs and the proper name Marathons, not much good news. Some of us have good luck working with GY. Good luck.

Keep your Marathon tires and contact Good Year for replacement with US made Marathon and payment for damage cause. Be nice to Good Year but persistent.
Good luck,

USA made Goodyear G614's are the top of the line currently being used by a lot of our members. Suggest you do a search on LonnieB posts or PM him - He is our tire expert and has recommended several other brands that have held up very well.

Steve, John, Larry and Nosticks
Thanks for all of your input. I am working with GY and expect a satisfactory solution. Thanks again.
