Lock cylinder fell out
She who must be feared unlocked the deadbolt this evening and the whole cylinder came out with the key. I was able to get it back in
but I know it's going to come out again.
Is this a common problem? Will I have to replace the whole latch & handle assembley? Where do I find one?
Thanks,
Russ

Meanwhile, until you replace it, spray the heck out of it with silicone, graphite is best, if not those, the old standard-WD-40. It may snap back in place.

Russ, we had this happen a couple of years ago at the Minden rally. Ed put the wrong key in the lock and the cylinder came out. We could not get it back in, both of us tried numerous times. We finally called a locksmith and it took him almost an hour to get it in. No problem since but we are careful to use the right key!
Having not read the thread Carol sent us to before, we just tried locking from the outside and then unlocking from the inside. We can do it on our unit so I would think if someone can't, the lock may be defective.
Happy trails...................

Thank you all.
I searched the forum for 'Lock' and didn't get that one for some reason.
The cylinder went back in once I got everything aligned properly so it's not like we're stuck.
I'll try to get a new one out of Keystone first. I'll let you know how that work out.
Russ

Never used our lock after first week. Installed a real house deadbolt (keyed like old house).
