Noisy pipes behind shower wall
When we are using the internal water system as the pump shuts down the pipes behind the shower wall make a terrible racket. It seems that they are vibrating against the fiberglass wall like pounding on a drumhead. Has anyone else had this issue and solved it? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try running all water outlets for awhile to bleed out air while running the pump, we had the same issue.

Mine sounds like a rivet gun pounding inside. The water lines do vibrate against whatever they are on. A higher quality water pump will deliver a steadier flow with less pulsing.

You can pull the back wall off in the basement and see the pipes the may need some pipe warp around them or some clamps to secure them better. you can also put a rubber pad under the pump to cut down on the noise from it when it is running.

I installed a pressurized accumulator tank. It stopped the hammering and the pump now runs quietly. Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Along with the rubber pad and pipe insulation, already mentioned, some have had success inserting a piece of rubber hose between the pex and the pump on both the input and output sides. Dampens the vibration of the pump.

Our HC water pump has flexible hose on both the "in" and "out" sides of the pump, and then the geniuses at Keystone laid the PEX across the top of the pump, with the PEX in contact with the pump. The noise could wake the dead. I put a piece of pipe insulation around the PEX, and it helps some.
