We will be married 38 years in January. We met on Cape Cod when I was going to school and Roy was in the Air Force. He wore a path in the road between Falmouth and Hyannis for a year before he was sent to Taiwan and Japan for a year. We were married 7 days after he returned from overseas.

OK, some of the posts bring up the question of which couples are still married despite knowning each other for just a short time (and how long) before marriage?

For us, we met on September 17th and were married the next February 5th. About 4 1/2 months. And we're coming up on 34 years of bliss (she reads this forum so I wanted to be sure to throw that in. )

I knew I liked you guys, September 17th is my birthday.

You two should be very proud of your relationship. Not many that happen so quickly stay together. Must really be love.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congradulations on your silver wedding anniversary. My hat is off to you both. You know how to take care of each other and what to compromise to.

Sharon and I have been married 36 years in Feb. 2005. I have known her since she was 13. As I have always said "Happiness is beign married to your best friend". No matter what goes on we are still best friends and we hope that is the same with the both of you.

Congratulations Sue!
We have been married 24 years. Our 25 will be in 6 months. We were highschool sweethearts. Here's a champagne toast to you and your hubby and to 25 more.

I just can't resist this one. I met my present wife 52 years ago (September 1952). She was still in high school and I was her new pastor at the church. After she grew up, we married in 1957 and served together for 40 years before my retirement. So in 2005 we will celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. We will be going skiing in January (my lift tickets are basically free since I am over 70), so we are still able to get around.

Bob and I just celebrated 43 yrs. We have known each other since we were young!! Our mothers were good friends, even though Bob lived in Washington State and I lived in British Columbia. We went to college in Iowa at the same time and became even better friends. Several years later, in a leap year, I proposed to him (someone dared me) and the rest is history. So I agree DHenry.."Happiness is being married to your best friend".

Congrats Sue - we celebrate our 21st on the 27th of Nov. But this was not our first. We belonged to a single parents club and double dated but were dating others, then those relationships broke up and those people went on to other relationships so Ed and I were left to hang out together. We became good friends and eventually fell in love. We agree about being married to your best friend is great. We are still best friends. Congratulations to all of you on the long years of bliss.

Great news, congratulations. Terrie and I celebrated 31 years yesterday. I see another trend among Montana owners.

My second, her first.

Congrats to Everyone! Sounds like a lot of fun loving couples out there. My husband and I were High School Sweethearts until he decided to join the navy to see the world? Things didn't last too long after that, we split for about a year and a half, then got back together and discovered we just couldn't live without each other. We celebrated our 26th anniversary last August! But if you concider his work schedule of being gone 2 wks of every month, you could say we have actually only been married for 13 years. The huge advantage of our situation is we don't have the time to get on each others nerves, and so tend not to take any of our time together for granted. I'll be retiring in about 2 years so we'll be able spend more catch up time together and go RVing during his two weeks off. After 26 years of two weeks on and two weeks off, it will be real interesting to see if we can continue 24/7 when he finally retires in 7 more years!

Scott and I were high school sweethearts and graduated together in 1976. Then we married on August 20, 1977, two months before we both turned 19. What babies we were! But 27 years and 5 children later, we're still together. We joke around and say divorce is too expensive and too much work anyway. And who would get the Montana?!!

By the way, in our sophomore year of high school, I found him VERY annoying. But in our junior year, he started playing football and I started going to every game. Need I say more?

Next Tuesday (Dec 7, Pearl Harbor Day) is our 36th. I always tell everyone "we got married on the same day a big war started, but I won't tell you which one" !!!

I met my wife right after I had eye surgery. I was only wearing one contact lense, so I tell her she "didn't look half bad"! It's a good thing she has a good sense of humor.

Congrats to everyone!
