CA Camping--Late Summer

I am looking for recommendation for RV parks near Yosemite NP, San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. We will be traveling with another couple in an SOB but both rigs exceed 37 feet. What do you recommend??

I don't know when Tim and Susan are leaving, but I'm going to wait a week or two and then ask them where they stayed. So - I'm interested in the replies.

Hi Tim,
We recently stayed at the San Francisco Rv Resort. If you can get a site water front you have incredible views. Not cheap!! The sites are really close together but with the view is hard to beat. Bart (like the subway) is about 3 miles north so you don't have to drive into the City with your pickup. The resort is in Pacifica.
Near Yosemite there is a small RV park in El Portal named Indian Flat Campground. Look it up on the net. Haven't stayed there for 20 years but it is really close to the park.
Hopefully other locals, like myself, will chime in with helpful hints.
If you happen to golf, there is a golf resort in Chowchilla, Ca. between the bay area and Yosemite which include a round a golf for 2 with a nights stay. http://www.thelakesrv.com/
We happen to live in Chowchilla and store our Monty there. If you happen by give us a Email

We also reccomend San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica. There are few RV parks near the city and at least this one is real close to BART to get into the city. Have Fun... Teresa

We stayed at High Sierra RV Mobile Park a couple of years ago. The setting was really pretty on the Fresno River in Oakhurst but they neglected to say that all the overnight or short term stay sites are side by side hookups, meaning you face the camper next to you. They are back in sites so you could not face your friends, unless they have a motorhome so they can pull in. Also the sites are so narrow, awnings would touch.

Tim and Susan,
As I mentioned when we were in San Antonio one of the nicest parks we've stayed at is the Park of the Sierra near Coarsegold, CA. Since you are an Escapee that is where I'd recommend for Yosemite.

You may want to PM or email Steve and Vicki. Not too long ago they stayed in that area and visited Yosemite. To the best of my memory they did not stay at POS.

Have a great trip and we hope to see you in a few months.

Tim and Susan, as for San Francisco most people will stay at either the San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica or the KOA in Petaluma as a base. You can check them both out on RV Parks Review. If you stay at the KOA in Petaluma send us a PM as we only live about 4 miles from there and maybe we can get together. Rich

Thanks for the info! We will be checking these parks with our travel buddies from Oklahoma.
