Electric Awning

Who out there has the electric awning and how do you like it? I have a new 08 3000RK that has it and I would like to know if when rolled out it should be tight like the old jackem up awnings. Mine has a little sag to it and I am wondering if it is just the way the electric ones are or not, it rolls out all the way as far as I can tell. I am used to having the old type awning that could be tightned up.

waldo238,
We have an electric awning on our 08 2955RL and we really like it. We use it a lot more than the manual awnings we have had in the past. It is easy to extend and retract as needed. It is more loose when extended than the manual awnings. The ends can move up and down. This has not been a problem so far. It could be tied or anchored down just as you would do with the manual awning. I never leave my awning out when I leave to go someplace anyway. I have seen tied down awnings get damaged when wind comes up. This is where the electric awning comes in handy, just retract it and be on your way. Easy to use.

I have the A&E awning with the wind sensor, added the awning after the purchase of the Montana from CW. We really like the awning and the sense of relief in retracting the awning if/when the wind comes up in the middle of the night. Just a simple push of the button, I have a remote as well, keep it on the night stand if bad weather is in the forecast. The awning does not stretch tight as on the manual awning but it is supposed to "tip" to allow water to run off.

Mine does not have the weather pro sensor, I don't believe it was an option I could get.

Mine did not come with the sensor on my unit. That would be the next step and would be nice to have. If I were to order an electric awning I would probably get that option.
