Cargo Hatch Bracket

On our second time out with our 2013 3455SA the whole bracket on the door side storage hatch snapped and completely pulled out the screws. Dealer wanted photos to get warranty information from Keystone and when they get the authorization they will order the new door. The same door on the other side cannot be replaced according to dealer unless it breaks. Anyone have any experience with this happening to them. Thinking is this happened on our second trip we can anticipate more issues with the other door while we are traveling this winter. Help!

Mine did the same thing, however, it waited until our 4th trip out. There was some other posts on how to keep the screws in. I think if you do a search on basement door flaws it should help.

This is a common problem and Keystone knows it. Ordering a new door isn't the solution. If they install the bracket in the same manner the screws will just pull out again. There is a thread here on what some of us have done to solve the problem. The latest and greatest idea is to enlarge the inside screw holes with a 1/4" drill (don't go through the outer door!), glue 1/4" dowels, flush with the surface, in the holes, and epoxy the metal bracket to the door. The dowels provide something for the screws to bite into (the existing door surface is very thin fiberglass) and the epoxied bracket provides additional holding power.

Since the Search engine here is such a POS, here are some links that I found.
