Our bedroom thermostat does not have the heat pump option only the kitchen thermostat, so we turn the fan on low in the bedroom to help circulate the air/heat if needed. Lower than 47 degrees we switch to the furnace as the heat pump does not perform well if at all.

We have the new units but have not had time to install. November is family camping reunion and then it went to the shop for maintenance and hopefully the last of warranty work. It will be March before I take it out of mothballs and install the thermostats. The old thermostats did not have the heat pump setting so I'm in the process of researching whether I have those units or just A/C. Being a Montana I was under the impression it came with heat pumps but I'm new to this brand and still learning my way around. Thanks for the feedback.

The propane furnace takes its return air through the storage “basement” . This is how it supposedly keeps the pipes from freezing. The basement is poorly insulated, even with the winter package or whatever they call it. When the furnace shuts off you will get a cold draft through the return air vents. Running the “fan” just runs the fan of the air conditioner, through the ducts in the ceiling, which, again are very poorly insulated, so you will just feel cold air through the ceiling ducts .
