cracks under bedroom slide
so I have an interesting problem/issue. found this the other day. never noticed it before. under the bedroom slide, the plastic that is covering the wood on the slide out is cracking in spots (log cracks) and small spots pulling away from wood. the only way to replace it is to take the slideout (not doing that for sure). anyone had this happen? any suggestions to fix this? like spray on flex material, or chaulk or............. looking for ideas. no clue as to why it cracked unless it happened by putting the slides out in very cold weather thanks in advance

seal it for now and get to the fall rally in goshen and tell the techs about it...more than likely they will take it in and correct the problem.
good luck.

Hey Dennis, hope you and Kathy are doing good. I helped a friend who had the same issue. We used black gorilla tape on it. That was over two years ago and it is still holding. His wasn't pulling away from the wood. If it were I would have injected some glue between wood and plastic, use something rigid to cover the area glued with a 2X4 on top of a jack to keep pressure on it until dry, then tape if necessary.

I had the same problem. We found that the rain in Seattle are was seeping in at the lower outside horizontal trim. Fixed the leak and stapled the plastic back to the wood this has worked for several years. I think I will the gorilla tape don't want to pull the slide.

Hey Jim we are doing great. hope you all are to. like your idea to. just have to figure a way to inject some glue into the area, then support it with some wood for pressure on it till it dries, then maybe some staples and gorilla tape( love this tape better then Duct tape). thanks

Hardware stores sell small injectors for various purposes and they also sell them for injecting marinades into turkeys. Inject 5 minute epoxy, cover area with wax paper, small board to clamp pressure to bottom, and it's done. Black gorilla tape over the slit area and you are good for long time.
