We have a 2011 Montana 3455SA purchased new. We live in Illinois & travel to Mesa AZ every year plus some minor side trips. In total we put between 4000 - 5000 miles on the unit per year. I drive between 60 -63 mph when pulling the Monty.

We're happy with our unit after doing the usual Monty corrections that everyone seems to go through when buying a new unit.

That said & done, what kind of life span can we expect to get from our unit? We are not looking forward to buying a new unit just to say we have a new one. We're the type of people that maintain & keep cars/trucks 15+ years.

I have an '06 3500RL that is still going strong at almost 10 years. There are a couple of nits but not enough to stop me from using it affectively. I have been able to keep up with the numerous small repairs and the big repairs I was able to resolve myself.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as the good times and experiences far outweigh the bad times, then there's no reason my rig should not become a classic. From what you've posted, you don't seem like the type to mistreat or abuse your rig, so you should be like me and keep trudging along for a long time. I'll also add, while my model has been replaced with newer models with more features and accessories, I remind myself, it's paid for and still quite functional.

We have a 06 Monty and travel about 5K-6K per year. Replace??? Not really, I upgraded ours--suspension, furnace, satellites, HD television, auto awning, Moryde King Pin--almost all the things that come on new units. But--my decals are heading south--only cosmetic. We are in Ft. Stockton, Tx and there must be 6-8 older Monty's here. I talked to one owner from CA who travels like we do and like us will just keep going down the road--past all those expensive new units at the RV dealers. Best bonus--it has been paid for since day 1!

I have a 03 3280 RL and i got it from a friend. It is almost like new inside. The grapics look bad on the dump side and that's all that's wrong with it. Sure I would like a newer unit but it sounds like a lot of work to step up to a new one. It's not like buying a car LOL. Think I will keep this one since its paid for.

All depends on how well you maintain. We had a entry level 20Ft Layton tagalong we kept for 14 years, 1984-1998, and 100% functional when we sold it.

My first Montana was a "gently" used 3400RL that was almost 5 years old when I bought it. Again, except for decals going bad everything still looked new and everything worked very good. We full timed in it for a year before trading. The only reason we traded was for more refrigerator room, level up, and a couple other newer features we wanted for full time use.

I fully expect our 2014 unit to last 10 or 15 years without any major issues. I am guessing at the 20 to 25 year mark there could be some rust issues and severe fiberglass chalking that would make my unit undesirable, but still probably serviceable.

My brother had a 1972 popup. We sold last year. It was well maintained and kept inside when not in use. It was in perfect condition. So how long will your Montana last, depends on you.

I am on number three and have traded rigs for several reasons. I traded the 2006 for the 2010 because of my business I needed a deadacate desk. Traded the 2010 for a 2015 because I spend at least seven months a year in it. It has much more room and a larger kitchen and of course a deadacated desk. Yes I have done a bit of tweaking to all of the rigs I have owned. But I beleave any of them would last many years if proper maniatance is done. Oh and yes if quite going under low bridges. That being said I fully expect this 3582RL to be my last rig and will do the maniatance and care to make sure if dose.

Our Heritage RV, Tana was born June 1 (give or take a few days) 2003.

We are still choosing to fix her up rather than replace.

Our 06 3400 served us well but not without major problems after 8 years and over 80K miles it was pretty well worn out.

We have a 2002 and we made up our mind to add upgrades to it rather then replace.. Just had I/S and disc brakes install in Goshen and it was worth every penny..

I believe anything can last based on your commitment to it. I have a prestine 1985 Caddy Convertible. Drove it for 75k miles before parking her. Looks like day I bought in when I was 25. My Montana has aged little since 2012 when it was delivered. Looks, smells and tows like day one!

I take care of my toys, home etc. I don't let anything go completely inoperative. I wash wax it often. I believe it could last 20 years plus with no problem. It depends on how you take care of it, and your commitment! Just my opinion! .

2002 2955RL going strong I would not trade for a new One

We tow a 2001 2955RL about 12000 mi. per year-since Feb. 2015 we have traveled to Key West,FL to Bellingham,WA and many stops in between. Going on 15 years and still in great shape!

I suspect it is like and old airplane or automobile: There is no "life expectancy" if you choose to maintain it, and keep it "alive" with parts and service indefinitely.

We have an 02 3670RL big sky, don't know total miles on trailer, but tookit from penna. to California and Oregan, year long trip.Just returned home.No major repairs. As stated in form decals going south. Looking at quality of new Montanas, will try to keep it for at least another ten years.

Plan to keep my 05 3670 Big Sky too. Currently have over 36K miles on it. Lots of fixes/repairs since I bought it used in 07.
DW gets interested in new ones at RV Dealers and Shows, but all have some "objection". Just wish she would let me get ours Painted...

I have an 2007 3500rl and a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 that I tow it with I'm hoping
both last the rest of my rving life which if my health holds out about 10- 15 yrs

We have a 2009 3400. Our decals need replaced and the automatic leveler would be nice, but otherwise we really haven't seen anything we would trade for.

Our 2009 has 85,000 miles on it and so far the problems have all been related to the lack of quality control on the production line.

The only recurring problem we have had is the frame; we just had our third frame failure yesterday. But will repair it like the last 2.
