New Painted Fronts - Fading???

Interesting discussion on another RV forum concerning grey painted front caps on SOBs and how they were badly fading. Someone even posted a picture of their SOB showing how the upper two feet or so was almost white compared to the original color below of a medium grey.

So, has anyone seen any evidence of the newer Montanas with the grey fronts showing the same fading?

The High Country models have had reports of the painted caps fading as well. I have yet to hear of or see problems with the Big Sky painted front caps.

Later comments on the aforementioned discussion say it is colored gel coat that is the problem, not paint. Guesses? Or fact? I have no idea.

I have a 2014 High country and noticed fading last year, such a shame to spend this king of money on a sub par product..

Have the same model and fade problem. waited till 30 days before warranty was up, took it to the dealer and they painted it with automotive paint and clear coat, keystone paid for it, but my dealer sells a lot of keystone products so I think that may have had some influence. I've read some people get denied and it costs around 2000.00 for them to have it done. No amount of waxing will fix this ( ask me how I know )as it is inferior gel coat not a paint problem.

Our 2014 High Country 318-RE is experiencing the same fading of the grey front cap's top two feet or so. I was hoping it was just the white powdery residue coming down from the roof when it rained, but I guess not. We'll report it to the dealer when we take it in this month. If Keystone doesn't cover it (we've just passed the one year ownership point), maybe our Star RV Diamond warranty will.
