refrigerator vents
We were recently in PA and had massive driving rains, I had rain get into my refrigerator vents. Anyone have this issue ever and anyone modify the vents (wall) to keep out driving rain while letting the fridge breath and cool. Thank you all

I would not mess with the vents as they are designed to cool the frig. Did the rain cause the frig to fail?

It happens, but it's rare. I just carry a strong magnet and will deal with it if it ever comes up.

I was worried about that happening and found a post somewhere that stated to insert 1/2 x 1/2" aluminum angle on the bottom and sides of the frame. Between the plastic vent surround (the part anchored to the trailer)and the trailers rough opening. Just slide the angle in and caulk with a fine bead of silicon. This helps prevent water from blowing in between the vent cover and the frame. If any water does get in it is directed down and away from the interior. Last year we camped at the beach as a hurricane passed by with 50-60 mph winds for over 24 hrs and had no issues what so ever.

Thanks all, the fridge did not stop working I just noticed that there was water dripping from the vent area. The wind was blowing the rain almost horizontal.

We were in Irma and that side of the trailer got 100+ winds and no water got through the any of the vents. I was grateful we still had a home to live in. the only issue was removing lots of pine tree sap from my truck and 5vr.
