I use the TRC Surge-Guard 34850 portable unit and this is the third unit I have used it on, and it's saved my butt a few times.... mis-wired pedestals...cant believe how many there are....I do test before I plug into the RV port. If I find a fault, I tell someone in the park, but usually get the proverbial....who cares!! but eventually some maint person will show up and correct the issue. Thousand Trails campgrounds have been on my list of late.

TRC surge-gard also.Lost my micro-wave once because of low voltage and didn't have any protection. Plugged in to one rv park with surge-gard and they didn't have enough voltage so moved to another. Either most people are hardwired or don't have protection because i walk in most parks and don't see very many with protection. I worry more about low voltage than high voltage. Especially parks that have a large number of rv's in the summer.
