Another step recall post

Just received my second or third step recall notice. A little over a year ago I made an appointment with my selling dealer (Lazy Days) to get this recall done along with a few other items. The appointment was made several months ahead of time.

When we were there for the appointment they decided that they had the wrong step recall kit. I told them to just send it to me since the closest we would be to them in the next 12 months would be about 300 miles.

After not getting it for several months I called and they said "no can do". The kit had to be installed by an authorized "expert".

I know from reading posts on this subject it is pretty easy to just purchase the correct bolts/nuts and do the work myself. My question is has anyone been able to get them to simply send the recall kit for owner install?

Not sure which Lazy Days you're dealing with, but to be honest I wouldn't trust Lazy Days Florida to touch my steps or anything else.

My dealer said I can come by and PICK up the nuts and bolts pkg no problem and sign off that I received them but they would NOT ship them to me But I am always on the road so I just fixed it my self with stainless steel carriage bolts and Nylon nuts and Yep I still get the Recall letter and I Chuck it, I have passed the dealer twice in 6 months and keep forgetting But one of these days I will pick them up and get "OFF the List"......OR NOT

There has been a Recall of the Recall of the Recall so far on the step issue. We never got the recall because they(Keystone) replaced ours while at the Fall Rally. If you go back into the archives you will see my the steps gave way on my wife and she broke her arm(wrist) I three places and had 9 pins put in that wrist. So I guess they figured they had better do something for us. Anyway, there have been three recalls now on the steps.
By the way, if you keep getting the Recall Letter it is your dealers fault because if you had it done or signed that you got the repair kit, THEY the dealer, is suppose to have notified Keystone that the Recall had been taken care of.

My steps were not on the recall list but they failed anyway and the bracket that the steps are attached to split front and back. I did not mess with Keystone but took it to a professional welder who repaired the steps , welded the bracket and added support.

It would take about 10 pages to "vent" about our experience with Lazy Days (Tampa) taking care of our warranty work after purchasing our 2014 from them. Great prices, but they should just close their service department.
