What water filtration do you use?

What water filtration do you use? Single in-line? Canister, dual canister? Mounting?

I use a filter housing that I purchased at lowes to house a generic yarn or pleated filter to pull out sediment and some iron. This connects to a camco evo filter housing and evo filter that still has a flow rate of 3.5 gpm and strips bad bad stuff out. This feeds a water softener (on the go brand) to pull out any other contaminents as well as soften the water. This insures really good tasting water and will soften most waters, except the super hard waters of ruidoso, new mexico and some other areas. I contain the sofener in a 5 gal bucket from lowes and one of the filter housings also goes in the bucket...the other is bungeed to the side of the bucket. Hope this provides some insight. John

I have a 4 stage R.O. filter system with a pressure/storage tank. Have R.O. water system at home, wouldn't be without it.
You can get them at Lowes, Home Despot, or on the Internet sites.

I put together and installed a dual canister system from thewaterfilterstore.com. Here's a link to the pictures from start to finish.

We made a dual canister system that is cradled in an old plastic beverage crate. We use a short 24" washer hose that connects from the service centre down to the unit as it sits in the cradle on the ground underneath the rv. with rv hose from there to water pedestal.

Dual canister set up then an On the Go water softener. Made a little wooden cradle to hold the filters.

This but I'm not smart enough to do the crate. I just stand the canisters on the ground.

We just use an in-line water filter you can get at CW. Has worked great for us for years and is cheap.

We installed the Aquasana 3 stage filter system for drinking water. I can say we have never had a bad cup of coffee no matter the campsite. Will soon test Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida waters for coffee taste. lol

For us it's been the simple in-line blue filters from Walmart or CW and seems to be fine. Maybe it's what I don't know that I should be concerned about

We use a whole house filter and housing purchased from one of the big name hardware stores and it is connected to a portable water softener canister purchased at the Fall Rally a couple years ago. I exchange the filter cartridge between a carbon filter and a "string/fabric" filter depending on where we are at when setting up camp. It sits in a plastic 12 gallon tub in the basement of the Monte next to the convenient center with four foot hoses running into the filter and out the softener from the convenient center. I had to purchase a new filter housing last year because I forgot to take the unit out of the Monte and the housing for the filter froze and cracked. No problem since it was the same type that came with the setup from the Fall Rally. I also carry an inline blue filter purchased at Wally World as a spare if needed.

I installed a 3 stage, from RV Water Store, in the basement. I have quick connect and disconnects so if it is going to freeze I can disconnect from the outside source and pump from the tank. It filters everything going into the Montana. They say that is good for the seals etc. I use a 5 micron prefilter and a 1 micron charcoal. I do not have anything in the third at this point but wanted it in case we stay somewhere that would need an additional filter for things like specific chemicals or hardness. It has worked well so far.

We too, use the Camco inline filter. We've never had an issue (yet).Personally, If I were in an area that had bad smelling water or water with a bad taste, I probably would be buying bottled water for drinking and cooking. I wouldn't trust a filter. But then, I'm a little skepical when it comes to bottled water too.

I just installed a single canister from Flo-Pur. I intend to use it for long stays and keep the Camco inline for short outings. I put quick disconnects on both ends so all I have to do is turn the elbow on the coach 45 degrees to switch from one to the other.

My set up is pressure regulator, in-line filter, canister filter then RV. So far no problems with taste, smell or microbes.
