Leaking Underbelly

I have a 2006 Montana 3400RL and I am having a leak from the underbelly. I bought this unit used last year and had a stacking washer and dryer installed by the dealer before delivery. On first trip I experienced some water leaking under the camper near the washer location. I suspected it was from the washer as we had just done some laundry. The other day we ran about five loads and ended up with a underbelly loaded with what appeared to be soap water. Dealer said I had to be connected to a sewer to drain water so that was done but value was closed on grey tank. Looking at the piping under the rig it looks like it is a direct run from the washer drain to the main sewer output without a cut off. I am thinking the washer drain has a disconnected pipe joint, any suggestions before I remove the underbelly over? And is there any fiberglass or other insulation in there that I need to worry about mold?

My first thought is that no piping should be able to be seen unless the bottom is dropped. Second is that dealer just did an install using the existing keystone installed washer/dryer hookups and that drain probably drains into a tank. Don't believe any label you may see about how it drains...verify! You probably popped the top seam on whatever grey tank the washer drain flows into. Just a guess. John

My 2007 3075RL drains into the grey tank. But when full, it backs up into the shower pan, not into the underbelly. I open the grey tank valve any time the DW uses the washer.

Our 2007 3400 drained directly to the sewer and bypassed the tanks. The pipe from the washer closet area was plainly visible beneath the rig as well as in the basement pass-through area. Try running the washer and check the basement area for problems. When we had a leak on our current model with washer, turns out the culprit was a pinched drain hose that resulted in a leak when the washer was installed. Check the washer drain hose first as the same may have happened. Unfortunately, if that is the culprit, the washer will have to be pulled out to install a new drain hose.

Thanks I have come to accept that I will have to pull off some of the underbelly covering to get a good look at things, just not looking forward to that right now and was hoping to make it a spring project. Anyone know for sure what type of insulation is used underneath? Removing an access panel it appears to just be an aluminum bubble type insulation...

Mine is a different model but the same year as yours and it has the aluminum bubble type insulation. Dropping the underbelly is not a big deal but does take some time. A clear elbow on your sewer line should make it easy to tell how it is plumbed. With all your tanks empty have someone pour water down your washing machine drain pipe and see if water flows thru the clear elbow. If it doesn't start opening your tank valves one at a time. Which ever one produces water in the elbow that is the holding tank the washer is hooked to. If you don't want to do that pushing a cheap sewer auger down the washing machine discharge pipe will tell you pretty quickly if the machine is draining direct to the sewer discharge pipe or through a holding tank.Just won't tell you which tank.
