dodge codes

I found this site for anybody that might be interrested in looking at codes for there Dodge trucks, there must be a million of them.

http://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-cu...odes-list.html

I might print them and put them in the Dodge folder.

Don

On Edit: On the other hand I think I will just make a file in Word and look at it when needed.

I think you will find that the codes are pretty universal and apply to all brand vehicles. My mechanic is a GM Master and he does ALL the work on my Dodge, had my vp44 and lift pump fail, the code was the same on GM and Dodge for this failure.

I agree with JimF that most of the codes are universal. I have found some are brand-specific and even some are model-specific within a brand. Some of these are the same codes, different meanings. But the majority seem to be universal. Don, do you know that you can check the codes on your Dodge without using any kind of machine.

I'm trying to remember exactly how to do it. I think, put the key in the off (not lock) position, the one just before the run (not start) position. Turn the key to run, then off, then run, then off, then run and leave it there. Your odometer will begin to flash one code at a time. When done it says done. If none, it will say done or just show dashes (don't remember which).

There's also a key sequence to test all the gauges including the speedometer. It's kind of cool to watch. I'd have to look for my notes to remember how to do that but if interested email me and I'll find it.
