Picked up our new 08 Super Duty

We brought home our new Super Duty this evening and what a beautiful truck. The 6.4 is really quiet and the ride is greatly improved over our 03. I was really unable to tell if there is any difference in the power as yet. It is going to take me a month to figure out all the buttons and switches. I love the navagation system, I managed to find a resturant in the data base that we wanted to stop at on the way home, punched it in and it took us there with great voice prompts and very clear map directions. These Super Dutys have really come a long way.

Congratulations, Bill and Linda. I look forward to hearing how well this truck does (or doesn't, if that's the case). Tell us more. Color, cab, pictures, etc.?

Bill,
Congratulations and best wishes with your 08 SD. The 6.4. Test results have been outstanding and we all look forward to hearing some real-time usage reports. I have been very happy and pleased with my 06 F350 6.0 and believe without the need to meet new stringent emissions, Ford would have stayed with 6.0. In the end, I believe Ford has come out with a winer. Some of the problems Ford had early on with the initial release of the 6.0 tainted and clouded some peoples opinions and I believe they have missed out on an excellent engine. From what I've read, Ford has painstakingly and meticulously tested the 6.4 and have produced an excellent motor and TV. As stated earlier in this post all the big 3 have made major changes for 08 because of the emission requirements and ULSD fuel. Again, good luck and let us know how it handles your Montana.

Hot doggies, Bill, so glad for you. Now, remember me when you trade up again in a couple of years. I stay about 2 years and 60 or 80 thousand miles behind the leading edge.

I think Ford had more problems than just emissions on their former PowerStroke flagship Diesel. The electronics did that variant in requiring the need for an engine change in their trucks, the one Ford owner of our camping circle, is waiting in dread for the time his 06 F-250 dies on the road.

Not a brandslam here amigos, wish my Chevy had Ford's internal brake control module and Dodge's bluetooth and navigation technology.
