Holding tank valves
Has anyone replaced the 3 holding tank valves with the Valterra or other better than the stock valves that come on the Montana? If so what was the brand and price to have replaced? Mine are extra hard to open and shut, just a mater of time before something breaks.

Is it the valve that is actually hard to open or is it the cable. So many stories on here lately about poor routing of cables I think I would check that first. Mine occasionally get difficult to operate. I force oil between the cable and the sheath, exercise it a few times and problem resolved.

Most likely both, maybe cable more so. If I replace them I will have it done some place, 2 hips replaced and one back surgery make crawling under tnings pure hell.

On both mine it was Not poor routing of the cable at all it is pretty direct ,the problem is mostly the cable that gets frayed and rusty inside the outer sheath and to a lesser extent the waste valve itself as it does get tissue or the gasket gets jammed in there etc.. but if you can not do it yourself for sure have it done it will be money worth spent

On a previous post, I described how on our 2015, I replaced all four cable pulls with direct threaded rod pulls. No more cable headaches.

I replaced the seals on black tank valve and lubricated valve with plumbers grease. Works very smooth and easy now.
My valve was difficult to open and close and not sealing completely due to deformed gaskets jammed in the valve groove preventing valve from completely closing. Also, the plumbers grease helped with making the valve operation very easy.
