2015 Montana HC, 18 Weeks in Shop, Help Needed

I need some more help and advise from the experts here.

We bought our 2015 HC montana in Sep of Last year, This week makes for 18 weeks in the shop and the dealer has found more damage.

I posted earlier about our wall frame tearing from the flooring.
In Dec the unit was dropped off at the dealer for this issue. Both myself and the dealer requested the unit be returned to keystone for repairs. That request was denied and the dealer began the repairs in house. Now 3 months later the wall repair is almost complete and the tech noticed cracking in the fiberglass at the top of the bedroom slide.
The service department as suspended all work until keystone tells them what to do next and once again we are stuck in the middle of this mess.

We have Missed the entire winter season of camping and are facing missing the spring season as well. I am really having a difficult time with this, The Check had Cleared... all the money we saved to buy this unit is gone and we are paying $150 a month for an empty covered parking spot.

I really feel that 3 major/structural failures of this unit in the 1st 6-months is a bit too much and I think it is time Keystone swap us out of this unit.

So long story short, does keystone ever buy back a "troubled" unit or at least swap it out.

And assuming they are going to want to try and fix it again, what causes this type of cracking?

Not sure what could be causing your issues and, while Keystone fixed ours in their service center (main slide hole not cut big enough) I can't explain why they have denied you. What I would do in your situation is call Keystone Customer Service and ask to speak to a supervisor (you probably won't get one) then explain to the person on the phone that you want an explanation for why they won't fix your rig themselves so you have the correct facts when you talk to your lawyer (then you might get one). Then if no satisfactory arrangement is made I would get a lawyer.

Yes Keystone does buy back/ replace units with structural issues. I do not know the details when Keystone replaced my son in laws 4 year old trailer with a brand new one. I believe he had the crack in the bedroom slide wall repaired twice and they wanted him to transport it to the Oregon plant from So Cal on his dime,to fix it a third time. He finally hired an attorney and Lemon Lawed it for multiple repairs of the same problem, the amount of time in the repair shop and lack of usability.

Keystone would rather fix your unit than replace it, it's cheaper. And the people at the plant don't won't headquarters to know they had to replace it. Looks BAD.
I would call customer service. Explain the problem. Be firm and polite. You wont them on your side. I'm in business for myself. Believe me, you do not wont to make them mad. You will get nothing. You are just a poor boy trying to do the wright thing to get your camper fixed.

You certainly seem to be getting the shaft from Keystone. Sorry for your problems

Hard to believe that a major player (Keystone) in the RV industry would take such a negative stance on something that they know is a production problem. They have to know that we (RV buyers) talk to each other and either complain about our bad dealings with our dealers or manufacturers or we brag about them. I think they would rather hear some bragging....but maybe not.

Thanks for all the replies, I am going to push this issue as hard as i can In a nice manor but there is only so much I can take. I do understand that keeping it civil and nice will work in my favor and that is what i intend to do.

Just to update the group. Keystone has not returned my calls however they did call the shop. They want the shop to cut into or cut out (not sure which) the fiberglass and patch the cracks. I am horrified by this idea but the shop says it is not a big deal, they have body guys and a paint both large enough for the whole unit to go in to be repainted.

I think I have to let them at least try the repair, they need 10 days to do it so we shal see.

In the mean time I think i need to get my ducks in a row on the laws concerning "Lemon" Status.

My question is what states lemon laws prevail, Purchase state or registration state? I am assuming the state where i bought it (Florida) Not my state (Georgia) Also does it matter that I have not actually registered it yet? We bought it in September and by the time the Title arrived the unit was banished to the RV shop so I have not had the motivation to get it Titled in GA and pay the registration fees and Taxes.

Thanks
Adam

Don't know how it works with a trailer, but I live in Arkansas and bought my truck in Missouri and am covered by the Missouri lemon law. Signed the paper when I bought it.
