Countertops
I have gotten several spots on the "corian" countertops that I haven't been able to remove. Don't know how they got there. Have used several products for corian. Any suggestions to remove spots and suggestions for cleaning. I am very careful with them to keep from scratching. Appreciate your help.

Are they stains or scratches? I have had good success with cheap toothpaste and a wet sponge. Sounds weird, but the very fine abrasive in the toothpaste will leave the Corian surface with a nice sheen and take away the scratches and maybe any stain also.

If you can't get the stain out sand them out using progressively finer wet or dry sand paper. The color goes all the way through and you can't hurt it. Buff it a little when you are done. If you need it I will send you a small price to practice on.

I would give Magic Eraser a try. They can remove things others can't touch.

The service center had folks who supply the counters come out to deal with a problem on our rig and they used a granite counter polish and a hand buffer on it.

Thanks everyone. I tried the toothpaste but it didn't remove the spots. I may try the granite polish and buffer when we head back home in March. I just don't want to mess it up. Thanks again.

You really can't mess your counter tops up. To do any real damage you would haft to work at it. If you used a high speed buffer you could get them too hot and burn a place but that is about the only thing short of dropping something on them and breaking it, that you could do.

Go get yourself a quality car rubbing compound, a car polish and either a good car wax or Zep floor sealer/granite sealer. Use an electric buffer for ease, use the compound followed by the polish and followed by the wax or sealer... it works and it works well for stains and scratch's.
For deeper scratch's use a wet sandpaper of 600 or 800 grit followed by the above.
