New Truck and Mods
Traded in my 05 Chev Silverado a week ago. The new tow is a Ford F250 XLT Superduty Diesel 4x4 with extended cab with a long bed.
Pulled the above bed part of theB&W Companion hitch from the truck to install in the new truck. So, tomorrow, I'm having a shop install the below bed kit. Then Wednesday, I'm getting a Line-X sprayed in the bed. The truck came with a DuraLiner. I'm hoping to sell it.. but, I doubt I'll get any takers.
Also installing rubber floor mats over the carpet to make it easier to keep clean.
I took the truck to a couple of shops last week to have a tubular 'running board' installed cuz the truck is high. The other things I did was to have a permanent power cord for my Garmen installed so I don't have cords dangling over the dash. Finally, I had a back-up camera installed. I was so spoiled by the b/u camera in my Toyota p/u that I just had to have one in the Ford.
The only other thing I have to do (until I can think of something else) is install the tire pressure monitor for the trailer. I was surprised to find the truck comes pre-fitted with tire pressure sensors AND trailer break control. I haven't figured out if it is adjustable like my Tekonsha or not.. but, I'll have to get our my manual.
Now, I have to sell my beloved Toyota Pre-Runner pickup. Such a sweet little truck.. Easier to run around town with.. but, can't afford to have two p/u's and a car.

Having a new truck is like having a new canvas. Have fun fixing it to suit you!

Hey BigBoomer.. I had a ride like yours a few years ago.. Well.. not quite as extensive. It was an International 4400 dual cab that had a Highwayman rear on it. Lots of storage, etc. The only real reason I got rid of it was because we decided to NOT go full-time. The truck was awesome. I don't care where I towed with it.. 11mpg. Rockies flatland highways, etc. But, problem was.. using it as a 'round towner.. you guessed it... 11mpg The greatest thing was the torque.. AWESOME. and I never had wo worry about overheating the tranny. BAM!!!!!

Favorite addon to my 08 Ford F250 is the Bakflip bed cover. http://www.bakflip.com/ It keeps the Superglide hitch covered when not in use and I just flip it forward to hookup and go. It has worked flawlessly and keeps the bed dry.
My next addon will be a gravity feed RDS Auxiliary Fuel Tank (32-Gallon Capacity, Model# 71804). It will fit forward of the 5er hitch and is only 9" high so it will fit under the bakflip cover.
The silliest addon has been this removable "Dog Shelf". We travel with two small dogs that like to look out the window. They were scratching up my leather armrest, so I built this carpeted dog shelf for them to ride on. They love being able to lay down and see out the window. Silly but effective.
