Dryer vent plate.

I know it has been on here before and I think Ozz had some pics but I have yet to find the link. I need to find out where to get the dryer vent plate, the flat unit that fits on the back of the dryer and vents to a duct above the dryer. I have got the goodies for the 240v installation just need to find that plate, the appliance store sales idiots said they only come with the back vent pipe but I saw a pic of an install that had the flat box on the back with the duct exiting over the top of the dryer... I got my flat aluminum sliding box connector at Sears parts store. It is round at the dryer vent outlet, then a rectangular box that is in two pieces, slides together to get the proper length, then at the top it goes back to round.

Thanks Ozz, I will search for one in the next week or so. As soon as our check shows up we will get the W/D and I want everything in place when we get them. Will start the 240 outlet install as soon as we get the rig back. I noticed on your picture that you put yours on the hall wall, I had planned to just stick it on the back wall... Dave

I like it there, as it is easier to access, plus, I raised my 120 washer plug for the same reason, I like to be able to un-plug them if needed. (Hard to reach them in the back wall with the W/D in place) The unused dryer 120 volt outlet can be re-routed for another circuit. It has it's own breaker, and it's easier to take the wire down that side wall to the basement, or wherever you want a new power circuit.

Dave,
I didn't want to put a big hole in the side of the rig so I used the flat exhaust vent and went into the basement with a 90 deg. and then through the floor of the side of basement and through the bottom of the rig. Works great and you can't see that we have a W/D.

I should have some pictures on "my modifications".

Happy camping,
Dick

Dick, thanks for the idea, and nice install. If I do the "through the bottom" route I would keep it all behind that panel, I need all the basement space for now. There is a pretty good amount of space under there. Did you put a vent cover on when you finished?... Dave

Dave, no cover on the exhaust vent as I could not find one for this situation. It takes up very little space and Splendide install instructions says do not exhaust higher that the outlet on the back. Not sure why.

Dick, we are probably getting the Whirlpool 0050 matching units. As soon as we get the rig back I will install the 240 outlet toward the top of the closet. I may move the 120 outlet up there too so I can reach it if needed. Thank God for the Rotozip... Dave
