Refer Vent Leak Repair

This has been covered before, but it has surfaced again and I just today made my modificaitons to stop the leak that wets the carpet in the cabinet between the stove and refrigerator in the 3400RL

On the outside:
Remove the two vent covers

Remove the screws from the bottom of the vent cover frame, and each side screw, one level up on the side. This will assist you in placing the angle iron under the lip of the frame.
Notice the RUST on the threads of the screws from water seepage

Bottom lip of frame

Aluminum Angle Iron purchased at hardwar store. Most times it is in the "flat stock" area.
Measure twice, cut once. Mine was 21 inches

Aluminum angle iron placed under back lip of frame
Use Silicone on both the inside and back side of angle iron to seal
Also use the Silicone in the screw holes before reattaching the screws

REMEMBER
On each end of the angle iron, after you have screwed the frame back in place, build a dam of silicone where the ends are. This will keep the water from seeping back through the cracks.

Good luck!

Thanks JimF for showing me how you did yours.

It is a shame that Keystone builds such inferior products. My entire slideout floor has rotten and fallen out, because the refrigerator vents were not installed correctly. The pots and pans in the cabinet are hanging outside the camper in the black mesh that use to cover the bottom of the slideout. You do great work Keystone!
