To Be "6" Again

To Be Six Again

A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, observing his wife, looking at herself in the mirror.
Since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her Birthday.

"I'd like to be six again", she replied, still looking in the mirror.

On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms,
and then took her to Six Flags theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park;
the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, everything there was.

Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park.
Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down.

He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal
with extra fries and a chocolate shake.

Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favorite candy, M&M's.
What a fabulous adventure! Finally she wobbled home with her husband
and collapsed into bed exhausted.

He leaned over his wife with a big smile
and lovingly asked,
"Well Dear, what was it like being six again??"

Her eyes slowly opened
and her expression suddenly changed.
"I meant my dress size, you dumbie!"

The moral of the story:
Even when a man is listening, he's gonna get it wrong.

I gave up years ago on trying to figure out what Karen wants or says. Like most males I don't take hints very well. I have told her time and time again not to leave me hints, just come out and say what she wants. She says it's more fun to leave me hints. Whatever!

There are only two ways to deal with a woman.

No man knows either one of them.

I read this story again. I imagined me & Dano in the scenerio,
and we had an incredible day! He is so cool to do this!

I read your replys, laughed, then thought, ...wait a minute...
So I read it again, & she actually said "six" not "A six"
She was concerned about her outer beauty while he was only thinking of her inner beauty.

So you see, he did listen & he was right in his thoughts & he made it happen.
The moral really should be : Choose your words wisely.

I hope all you men out there are as loving and thoughtful as the man in this story.

DW told me after I read this to her, that we would never have to worry a situation such as this because I never would have been listening for the answer in the first place. Guess I am going to have to take her camping again so at least she is happy while I practice my non-listening skills!!!!!!! OUCH!!!

Guess I'm making too much of this, huh?
It's just that it's funny at first,
but then it's not funny at all cuz she's the one
who can't say what she means in the first place.
Aghhhhh!!!!!

The moral of the story as you first interpreted it rings true nonetheless. Most DH's develop a keen sense of "selective hearing" as Tom says over time. Doesn't matter what the conversation meant, DW is always right, even though we can't hear her!!!!! LOL!!
