Dodge Mega Cab set up

It seems those that have responded to this topic that own a new Mega Cab have newer short bed friendly 5th wheels. I have a new Mega Cab 3500 and and old 03 Montana Big Sky, I'm not so sure that a superslide will work with my nose of my 5th wheel extends well over the bin box. A sidewinder bin box was mentioned that I would need to give me the extra clearance that I need. I welcome all comments in regard to this issue

We have a 2004 Montana and have a dodge short bed, 4 door. We have never used a slider hitch. We use a RBW little rocker hitch. Have never had a problem. But do have to watch when in a tight place. We have towed 3 different 5th wheels with this hitch and short bed.

The PullRite 18,000 lb SuperGlide slides back 14" and the 24,000 lb one slides back 18". I would think the 24,000 would give you all the clearance you would need.

I'm in your exact situation. New Mega and a 06 3400 with an 05 nose. I've been in touch with Pullrite and what they want you to do is find the "True leading edge" of your Monty. I'll forward the email they sent me. HOPEFULLY the 18 or 24K will fit in our trucks. As of 10 days ago, Pullrite did not have install instructions for our trucks and the 07 has a different frame set up from the 06's. The Pullrite dealers (at least in my area) don't seem to want to install without instructions/prints of the 07 setup.
I'll keep you informed as to progress.

How far does the nose extend past the pinbox? We towed a 2003 3295RK with a Ford shortbed and Reese manual slider and had no problem. The hitch center (where center of the pin would be) is just one inch closer to the cab on this MegaCab than it was on our Ford. An inch makes some difference but not a lot. I would think the superglide, either one of those mentioned, would probably be fine. Does Pullrite have some measurements you can make to figure it out for sure?

It seems from what I've been hearing that the Mega cab is 5 inches longer in the back of the cab, that seems to be whats creating the confusion. Thanks for your input

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. Looks like we have the same 3670 Big Sky. We love ours.

Thats interesting ?? My Montana Dealer has never installed a 5th wheel hitch in a Mega Cab, maybe no instructions ?? Please e-mail me directly @ bobbya4u@juno.com with your finding and updates from Pullrite. Its good to know I'm not the only one caught in this dilema
Thanks again,
Bobby A

I'm not at my 5th wheel right now to get a measurement Steve, I'm gonna try contacting Pullright to see what they say.
Thanks,
