Another Recall - Transfer Switch

We have a 2011 3400RL. I finally called Keystone about the frame recall. My unit is not part of that recall. But, the representative in Customer Service told me about 2 other recalls -- Norcold (which I knew about) and then about the transfer switch (I have a factory installed generator)that I didn't know about.

I had not been notified about either of these recalls by Keystone. Customer Service had my correct name and address but never sent the letters. I was assured that the letters would get sent soon and that they would look into why I had not been notified. The message is, thanks to MOC for spreading the word about recalls and, check with Keystone to be sure you will be notified about future recalls on your unit.

I wonder if a permanent topic to cover all recalls that come up can be set up in one of the forums.

I am beginning to think that our rig is already on a permanent recall list. At least I will be able to combine the last two recall notices into one trip to the service department (our new rig is on this list as well). I am wondering if I should wait a couple more months to see if any additional recalls are forthcoming???

The recall sounds like the lug screws are not tightened. Fancy Lawyer talk for loose wire lug screws.

I noticed that also, Ozz. One thing I am a fanatic about is anytime I am woking with and in an electrical device, I have this phobia where I have to check all connections!! Anyone with any experience with an RV knows where this is coming from (I don't want anyone to think I have loose screws ). Regardless, even though when I installed the EMS I tightened up every connection in the transfer switch, I will still have the dealer do their obligatory check so they can get a little money back from Keystone-Montana.

Regarding recalls, neither this latest recall, nor the Norcold recall, are listed on the recall page of the Montana website. (Don't think I saw anything about the frame problem recall either!) So what's the deal? I can understand the refrigerator...Keystone seems to wash their hands of any issue arrising from installed components (like tires and refrigerators, leaving the customer to sort out the problem), but something that is basic to a unit, like its frame, I would think would be at the head of their (Keystone) list. Without the alert members of the MOC, some of us would never know what is going on with our units.

So in essence, I guess you are asking upon whom should we rely, Keystone or the MOC?? I know where I go for all things Montana!!!
