74 by 78 is considered a "rv king" size. I replaced my original mattress with a r5 Sleep Number bed. DW and I like the mattress as I like a very firm mattress and she likes it soft.

I did something similar. I took out the rv king and replaced it with a eastern king. Fit perfect and more space. We did lose some space walking around it but we don’t really walk around as much as we climb on it.

We changed out our king for a queen. Sooo much more room. We purchased the Saatva Adjustable bed. They delivered, setup it up, demonstrated the functions, and hauled away the old mattress - all for free. https://www.saatvamattress.com/

We love it!

We also cut down the plywood and replaced the king with a standard queen. Really like the bigger room.

We cut the deck and a queen also like having the room. Don't need a king anyways.

We also cut our platform down to queen size and installed a normal house size and shape memory foam and has plenty of room for it.

Pad Added

We added a 2” foam egg crate type mattress pad to our 3721 and it made all the difference in the world. It was about $75 at Walmart

Wife ordered 3” memory foam topper and I rounded the corners. Using 12” pocket king fitted sheets with no issues. 100% better than just the factory mattress.

We have the sleep number queen had it in both our Montana's and have one in the S&B. We are long timers and stay in the RV most of the year. They are very comfortable but not in expensive.

We replaced the mattress in our 3400RL with a memory foam RV King from CW the cost was about $375.00 on sale and it's really comfortable.

Mattress replacement

We have a rv king which wasn’t the same size as a regular king. We lived near Springfield, Missouri. Springfield Mattress Company made us a custom size mattress that has a lifetime warranty. It is wonderful and if it ever gets broken down they will rebuild it fir life.
