Need a Lippert Controller/Remote
I have a 2011 Montana High Country Model 343RL. It has a remote to operate all the slides, jacks and awning. It looks just like this one. Anyone know where I can buy a new one? Mine just eats up batteries so there must be something inside shorting out. http://manuals.heartlandowners.org/E..._0146_revB.pdf

Rene,
Try calling Lippert customer service who is the mfg of the remote controls for the slides, etc.

Good luck,

Thanks Les I did call Lippert. The controller is still available but I just about died when he told me the price. $104.23. He did give me the part number which was 206436. I googled that and found the part online from RV Ugrades and they're asking $77.44 + S/H. A little better but still expensive. I remember a short time ago, there were some for sale on E Bay and I believe they were asking $27.00 or there a bouts. They had I believe 17 and they were brand new. Of course me dragging my feet, now they're no longer available. Must have sold out. I'm going to wait a little while to see if they become available on E Bay again. At least I know they're available from either Lippert or RV Upgrades. Thanks for your help. If anyone else knows where I can get a Lippert remote part # 206436, please let me know. Thanks everyone.

Good news. I found a controller on EBay. It was brand new, never used. A person got it with his RV but never used it. I bid on it 5 days ago and no one bid after me. I was the only bidder. After shipping, I paid a total of $10.98. Not bad Huh? I just hope it works.

Mine just sits in the drawer. If we ever sell the unit it will come out, but we didn't like it and so it's in retirement.

Mine did the same. I fixed mine. What you won't to do is bend one of the battery contacts where it does not make contact then drill and tap the plastic housing just over the contact and install a small brass screw to shove the contact down on the battery when you won't to use the remote. If you don't own a machine shop to do this I do and will be glad to do it for you just as soon as I get home next week. If you do this your battery will last years not a week or two.

Lynwood, that's a great idea. I'll have to do that to the one that doesn't work and I'll keep it as a spare. Thanks.

I would think the remote would have to be unique to your rig. I know if I'm outside between my unit and another Mountaineer, my remote operates my back jacks and not my neighbors. It' like a remote keyless for your car. Some how it has to be programed.

It is unique to your rig once it gets programmed to that rig. I have the instructions on how to do it.

Good to know. I'll keep you in mind if I ever have to program one.

Lynwood, that idea worked great. I used a 6-32" Allen HD Capscrew about 3/8" long. The outside diameter of the head is knurled so it makes it easy to grip between two fingers. I drilled through the side of the remote and then taped it. I now have a spare. The one I got on E-Bay arrived yesterday. Now I have to program the new one to the brain. Thanks again for a great idea.
