AC/Heater Questions

Another rookie question:

In our 2015 305RL rig we are running the heater but AC unit is on too. Does the AC unit need to be on when the heat is on? I've look all over and can seem to figure this one out.

Any help would be appreciated

Happy Camping!

Finally found it- On the Dometic Thermostat if the fan says Hi or Low both the heater and the AC will below Use the +/- to select Auto.

So your saying that if the thermostat is set on "Auto" the AC/Heater unit will automatically adjust the temp according to the degree setting of the thermostat?

The fan must be set to auto to avoid it running when heat is on. any other setting and you get heat from the floor and cool air from the ceiling

Are we talking the heat-pump for heat of the furnace?

Nope ... If you have the dual zone thermostat, the fan must be set to auto when running the furnace ... otherwise, the A/C will kick in as well. Dunno who programmed this deal ...

It a really odd configuration. Yes if the fan is not in Auto both systems will be on. And that blows.

Actually, the compressor is not running when the fan selector switch is on anything but auto, just the circulation fan.
