We are now set up for 2005 - 2006

Notice all Winter Texans,

We now have our own special area to post notes about gatherings in the Rio Grande Valley.

In our meeting of February 2005, we discussed meeting monthly, say from November to March, each winter. That way, if some MOC members are only able to get away for one month, they will get a chance to meet the others in the Valley. We felt bad that some members were here in January 2005 and we met in February 2005.

We will meet the 3rd week of each month, we suggested Thursday afternoons. Probably at a local restaurant, where we will try to reserve a seperate room.

So, if you are around in November 2005, post here, organize something, this is VERY laid back, easy, call a restaurant, ask for a room, post it here. Those who can attend, post in same thread so we have a count of people.

The idea is to keep this very informal, no leader, just whoever can be in the Valley volunteer to make the call one month. The reason for no formal organization is simple, life calls the shots, for example, Al and I may not be able to make it next year, even tho we have the best of intentions to do so and have our reservation all lined up. As I have said several times: God willing and the creek don't rise, we will be here.

See ya next winter, safe travels to all in the meantime.

Carol

Sorry we couldn't make it to the get-together this week. Hope everyone headed "north" has a healthy and happy summer. We will return to the valley in August. Same place Rio Grande Bible Institute in Edinburg. If you're passing by stop in and visit. We aren't leaving untill the last of April so have a few more weeks to enjoy the warm Texas breeze..

Carol, we were not in Texas this past winter but I've followed the adventures and the get-togethers. Just wanted to say it appears you did a terrific job with all this! We hope to be part of the group next winter. We have reservations, 1/5/06-3/5/06 at Bentsen Palm Village RV Park in Mission. Hope to see you all in South Texas!

Great! I had to look back to see which site we're in (308) and bring up the site map to see where we are in relation to you. OntMont is not far from us, too, along the edge rather than on a circle (I think). Anyone else with reservations for Bentsen Palm Village in Mission, TX, for Jan/Feb timeframe?

Great, Gene! It ought to be a lot of fun having so many MOC members within reasonable distance. We'll arrive on Jan 5th, weather permitting.

Hi Steve and Vicki,
Glad to see you back here. We changed our reservation to 3 Months on site 322, Starting Jan 7. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the RGV nest winter. Oh, Ormee and Ginnette are booked for 3 mos too. You might want to consider 3 mos if you can, that way you get a better rate, and your site choice is fixed. As it is with a 2 mo reservation, you could be bumped to another site, if someone wants yours for 3 mos.

322 didn't look big enough to hold 2 big rigs when we were there.

Hey SKIP!!

We will fight John for it! HA HA HA

We have a printed receipt for site 322. My records indicate that John and Donna will be on 214. If the ladies gave them 322 and us 322 there might be a problem, eh??

Hmmm, they didn't say anything about possibly being bumped, just that we're in 308. They did hold my reservation until after 2/15 of this year. They said those already in the park this year get priority, but only up until 2/15. After 2/15 they put it through. They also didn't mention the better rate for 3 months. We'll probably stay with two months as we will be antsy to move and do some more sightseeing of this beautiful country. I'll be unhappy if they bump us.

Sharran and I will be back in the Mission area next year as well and look forward to getting together again with the moc members. Not sure where we're going to be staying yet but suspect if all goes as planned back at Trade Winds. We hope to make our stay 3-4 months but time tells all!!

A person may need a designated driver if you visited everyone in Benston Palm Village this winter.
