Wire carrier/belt

I am not really sure what to call it. It's the flexible plastic belt that holds the wires, etc when the slideout opens and closes. Mine has snapped in two. I'm pretty sure I've seen a fix for this on this website somewhere but I can"t find it. Anybody repaired theirs? I'd greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks

I drilled three holes in each broken end and used large plastic wire ties to hold the ends together. Been several years ago and still holding. I know some have used hinges to attach the broken ends to each other.

I did the exact thing carl n susan did. Was still going strong when I got a new trailer - after 6 or 8 years.

I upgraded mine about 10 years ago with metal hinge to connect the pivot end to the slide out. Easy to do--buy hinge, measure for holes, drill, attach with good screws and flat washers--go RVing!
With a break in the middle--attach the hinge between the two pieces. I would still install another hinge at the pivot point.

I used a couple pieces of aluminum sheet metal and sandwiched the two ends butted together between the two pieces of aluminum, drilled holes for Pop rivets through both ends and through the aluminum and riveted all together. This was a couple years ago and it's still holding together.

Thanks to all who posted. I used a hinge to repair the break and it appears to be working fine. The owners on this forum have been a great help to me over the years. I really appreciate your advise and knowledge!

Mine broke a few years ago
A 3 inch household door hinge
And a few screws will probably outlive the life of the rig

When mine broke I was lucky that it broke next to the slide out. I trimmed it square and mounted a barn door hinge to the slide and then bolted the plastic to the hinge. Repacing it with a new one would give you the same problem. Been that waay for six years when aI sold the fiver.

I have had to fix two of the three on my 2008 Montana 3500RL so far. I done same as others & used a pack of black zip ties. Same as others I drill holes in the pieces where the break occurred . I think I drilled 5 to six holes on each piece and zipped tied the two pieces back together. I left the zip ties just a little loose so it could flex there at the repair yet tight enough to hold up the load.

Red face Wire Loom

It’s called wire loom and is usually split for easy installation and replacement. You can get it in various sizes.

This would probably be expensive as most parts from Trekwood are plus you would get to do it again in a few months.

Forgot to mention this is available on Amazon. Just search for wire loom.
