Garmin driving analyzer

I have a new Garmin 1390T and just checked for any update and they have a driving analyzer that got installed in the update. You can turn it off but figured I would give it a try. Computes gas mileage along with analyzing your acceleration and breaking for fuel economy. Figured I would give it a try for one tank and see how it does. As I wrote in another thread, I also install Low Clearance software, on special for $9.97 year.

Just refueled and reset for a full tank test. So far I consider it to be for entertainment purposes only but it does indicate if you are not diving in an economical manner, i.e. heavy foot etc. It did calculate fuel mileage but since it was not installed at the time I filled up I am not giving it a ya or na on accuracy. I do like the indicator flag on the GPS display that indicates how your driving is affecting mileage without having to watch analyzer display which means you can't see the gps data.
Also added the Low Clearance file but have not been under a bridge yet to see how that is doing. All these new toys and too cold to go camping and test them out!

In the 2 years that I have subscribed to Low Clearance we have only had the occassion to get 1 low bridge alert. Most of the time we are traveling in familiar areas and have it turned off. Other times we are just too "out to lunch" to remeber to use it. As we get older we need to rely on these technical marvels more and more. Unfortunately I need something(one) to keep reminding us.

I was wrong, tried every overpass in Fredericksburg all three said 13.6' so still looking to check this feature out. One that said 13.6'didn't take into consideration the length of the trailer since it was at the bottom of a dip in the road. I am sure we would span the dip and hit, something else to think about.
