Camping World Ins thru GMAC
Recieved a flyer from camping world asking me to check out their insurance coverage. I called the toll free number. I explained that I kept my 2006 Montana 3500 RL in a campground at the lake of the ozarks year round. The campground is open from April 1 thru Oct. 31st. You can then winterize and leave there for storage for a small fee. I should point out that the RV is not fastened down and can be moved at any time. We use it on weekends thru the summer and a few other days if we are free. The only time we usually move it is to take to dealer (90 miles away) for repairs. A very pleasant young lady gave me a quote that was a lot cheaper than my current carrier. I asked her to send me the forms I needed. Appx 1 hour later I got an e-mail from GMAC giving me a higher price. I called GMAC and asked why. I was then told it didn't make any difference because they would not insure me because I did not move my RV and it did not qualify as an RV. After trying to reason with them to no avail I called camping world back. I was told GMAC was wrong and they would insure me. Next day I get a call from GMAC again and told I did not meet their guidelines and would not be insured. Called camping world again and then told this was correct that I did not meet their guidelines but they had other carriers that would insure me. (Of course at a lot higher rate). Was again called by GMAC and told I could not be insured unless I moved the RV. I asked how often and they said maybe a couple of times a year. I asked if I had lied and said I moved it often they would then cover me. No Answer. Bottom line is that Apparently camping world and GMAC do not communicate very well and if you use them you better beware. Apparently they make up there guidelines as the go along.
