No kidding. What great info. Bob uses the omeprazole, which he buys in Mexico. It has helped him immensely.

Tara, you are some smart Cookie. Steve is a lucky man.
Thanks for the input, very interesting stuff.
I love Tex-Mex foods, but try to not over-indulge, I know the meds shouldn't be the 'Fix' for not eating correctly.
Thanks for your interest, and interaction in our little dysfunctional group.

Tara great info on this, my dear hubby has this and I keep telling him to change his eating habits but I fall on deaf ears! He has been on the little purple pill for about 8 years. He tries to go without and it doesn't work.

Yea, I tried to stop taking them as well. Nope. Went back on the routine.
A good friend went to Mexico and got us a bunch of similar pills, don't remember now what they are, I'll be taking them soon.

We just went through this - Chuck has a hiatal hernia and GERD - he tried the Prilosec - unfortunately the Prilosec only keeps the acid down - doc gave a prescription for Nexium and it is a gift from heaven - not only does it keep the acid down, but actually HEALS the esophagus thus cutting waaaay down on the risk of cancer let alone the discomfort of indigestion - we intend to keep a supply on hand since this happens quite often - things that irritate are tomatoes, CHOCOLATE, and coffee - three of his favorite things!

My doc gave me a 14 day supply. I took them for the 14 days. I now rarely have indigestion, so maybe not all have to take the pills 'forever'. BTW, this has been well over a year since I took the meds.

I have been taking Protonix for about 4 years and haven't had one bout of reflux. works great. I buy through tricare and it costs me $9.00 for a one month supply....

I now know why my Father put little 3" wood blocks under the top end legs of his bed. Must have tilted that elementary canal in the right direction. In a camper I'm guessing the remedey would be to put the pillow on the high end of the bed after parking for the evening. that is if the Navigator approved of the concept. On second thought the purple pill may be the answer. Glad to learn about it. Thanks.

Jim and Freddie, (Random Line),
Great to hear from you. Hope all is well. Let is know when you get that new Monty.
Jim we're going to be down in Phoenix from the end of April to the middle of May. Does your son still live down there? If you still have that connection if there is any chance of getting together please let us know. See you on down the line.

Say,

Nice to hear from you guys. We will not be going to Phoenix this year but would like to. Small snow storm here today. No school etc.

Our son still lives there so ---sometime we will get back there.
This house project is now to the patio, deck, irrigation, beach developement, shrubs, lawn etc ad infinitum. That translates into goodby summer leisure of 2007. Oh how we miss the Monty. Well we can almost see it in the State Park across the Lake from us so a visit to our former Home away from Home is not out of the question.

When you guys venture east remember where we are. We have a water, sewer and (30A) power spot that you can use as long as you can stay in the area.

Hope all is well with you and you are traveling safe and happy.

Nice to hear from you we don't get on the forum too often.

Have a Happy and Blessed Easter.
