Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I just bought a TireMinder TPMS TM66-M6. Read the instructions and looked at the video. Wondering if others have this unit, and if so, where was the transmitter mounted?

Tks in advance,

Rodger

Not familiar with that model either, but the user manual says the transmitters are the devices that attach to the valve stems. Also included in the kit are the monitor and hardwired signal booster. Is it the booster you are asking about?

You are correct Bill and Patricia. I am wondering about the hard-wired repeater. Tks for catching that.

I have read that people mount them in the back window of the truck or in the front in the storage area of the trailer. When using the trailer you have a 12V supply handy.

Seems either position mentioned by Tom works, from previous posts I have read.

On my TST system I mounted the repeater in the back window of the truck.

Tks to all for the comments/suggestions. Think I will go with the forward storage area because of the availability of power.

I mounted the repeater in the back window with a little silicone, I ran the wires under the carpet to the bottom of the door jam (this just pops off with a screw driver)I have wires there for the rear view camera so I attached the repeater wires to the same wires that power the receiver to the camera. But running power along the door jams is a very easy job, and you can use a switch to control your device(s). To make it even handier I tested the larger (12ga)wires under the dash for power that is controlled by the ignition, splice into that and everything turns off when the truck is off. The only caution is there are a lot of wires under you door jam. make sure all wires are clear of the tabs that snap down to secure the jam.

I mounted the booster in RH storage cabinet. A 12 volt connection is already located there along with the TV cable connectors. Run the wires behind the wall and connected to back of 12 volt mounting plate. Then anchored the booster to top of wall. Works good for me. Plenty of boost to pickup monitor. Easy to see the green power on light also.
I have a lot of respect for Tire Minder as it clued me new brake was dragging, not adjusted correct.
Hope this helped.

On my TST, I mounted the repeater in the front bedroom of the Monty. There's a 12v jack there in the very front.

I have that system. Have you operated your unit without the repeater yet? I got the repeater with my kit but never needed it. All wheel monitors work fine and the signals are received by the dash mounted unit fine. Just say'n. Maybe you don't need the repeater.

However, that being said, I would mount the repeater in the rear window of my tow vehicle with velcro and run the power cord under the rear seat to a power source. Mounting in the front storage comp. is an option and power is generally easily accessable. But don't forget to turn it on and/or off as needed.

I have same TPMS system in a 3150RL - I mounted the transmitter next to the 12 volt outlet in the basement where I tapped in to power with a small switch so as not to draw on battery if dry camping. It works just fine from there.
