A new OTA antenna head is shipping (Jack).

Camping World has the Jack HD digital replacement head for the standard winged antennas on the rigs for less than $40. I had to order and it should arrive tomorrow. Camping this weekend and will install on Saturday. This will give me a direct comparison between the OEM and the replacement head. Will search for stations Friday when we arrive, replace the head Saturday and see what the difference is. It uses the existing arms, cables and amplifier and supposedly only takes a few minutes to install.

I installed a new head on mine on our Alaska trip. There is a d-clip, so you need a needle nose pliers. If I recall correctly, it's the only tool you need. Very simple install. I think it helped, but not positive because I didn't have service when I put the new one on.

Thanks for the tip, Ron, will take a pair of needle nose pliers with me. I don't think I keep a pair in the rig, so appreciate the heads-up!

Bingo, when you do your checks with the existing antenna, make note of stations received with antenna pointing in direction where most stations visible and then turn it 90 degrees,do another scan, make note of what is visible there. That way you approximate what a 360 degree antenna such as the jack should be seeing. And this should give you a true comparison. John

I installed one and very pleased. A lot of the times don't even put the antenna up and get lots of channels.

Got the antenna installed Saturday. Only took about five minutes including getting on the roof. Unfortunately, I could not tell any difference since the original antenna was picking up every station in the area prior to the swap. Picture clarity was good and clear so for now the only positive aspect is that I feel the antenna looks better at least.

If you are in an area with good reception you may not see a difference, in the fringe areas you will.
