Good new is that Helen no longer is hunched over the bathtub doing dishes she now washes in a large plastic bowel and dumps the dirty water down the john a task we once did on our not top of the line, best you can buy Rv's when conserving gray water tank space when we did not have full hookups. She did not like it then and likes it less now. Another memory to cherish and share. Looks like we can do the repair tomorrow.

Some how Rich, I csn't see Helen cherishing those memories as much as you do. Surprised she hasn't dumped a pan of soapy dish water on your head. LOL

That is why I would not advise a Keystone rep to get anywhere near Helen for some time to come.

Think we got the leak corrected. We do not want to do a good repair as if we fix it then it is not broke and the extended warranty may not replace it, Hope it holds for a couple of months.

Good news is the galley tank temp repair is holding. We can't fill the tank as it leaks up farther and the gray tank leaks about in the middle. However when flushing the black tank this morning I note something hanging down from under the opposing slide. It turns out it is a putty like material used for insulating and about a two foot strip just fell off the slide. This thing has been sitting here on our lot in Florida since October 21st 2013.The slides have not been moved. It is 21 months old.
Anyone had this issue.

Bummer Richfaa. The Big Sky less than 2 years old and having these types of sloppy workmanship or product problems. It's almost like they forgot how to put these things together over the years, or the experienced employees were let go in favor of less experienced newer folks. I am baffled this kind of shenanigans continues every year no matter what the caliber of the rig. I hope you hang in there somehow.

We are going to attempt to sell this thing when we get home. It will make a good permanate camper or a low use unit for someone. We have good connections with many local campgrounds at home . Our plan is to get a reasonable price for it then go to a Cougar type 5th wheel and smaller truck. Between truck and camper sell we may not take to much of a financial hit.

The negative factor is that the Montana is a high priced unit for our area. There are actually not many around. It will be hard to sell it. Truck not so much of a problem. We will try our best. First thing we will do is to get a idea on how much it will cost us to get this thing up to a standard we can have confidence in. Where there is a will, there is a way.

NADA Says average retail is @ 70K which is BS as we did not pay that much for it and low is @ 58K. We would have a hard time getting 58 K for it, Not in our area most Folks there never heard of a Montana let alone a Big Sky. We may be stuck with this thing. Hope not.

Before taking that kind of hit on it why not call and talk to someone on up the food chain at Keystone. And if that don't work maybe a letter from an attorney may help. I mean everybody has had a problem or two but that is just ridiculous.....

We live in a largely blue color area and the Montana is a expensive unit. Our Local keystone dealer handles the Cougar and it is a good seller. There is little market for the Montana line around here. The nearest Montana dealer is over 60 miles from our driveway.

Looking at the picture in your signature, it's obvious you never sold the unit as the picture is dated 06/09/2025!

Have you considered going back to the factory and letting them address the various issues? Even if you had to leave it with them for a week, it seems like it would be worth it in the long run, whether you sell it or not.

The factory is not interested. It is out of warranty. Bottom line is,right now, we do not want this thing as we have zero confidence in the reliability of the unit. We really want to take a look at what is going on when the underbelly is dropped to replace the tanks. We had 5 failed tanks on the 06 3400.We will not deal with that on this unit. We will make a final assessment of it when we get it home and can take a good look at the build quality and attempt to predict what future failure's may be. We will drop the front cap and check for proper welds or stress points. We have wall panels popping out and the chair bottoms falling out because of the quality of the brads used in construction. We need to address the chipping of the big sky paint on the front over hang.

we had planned to install the Moy Ryde IS system on this unit since we are high end users. We will not spend that money if we determine the unit is not worthy of it.

Those who are low end users will probably never see the issues we are having. We are not full timers but long timers and we do a lot of road miles and live in this thing many months out of the year.

This could mean a large financial loss for us and perhaps a end to our Rv'ing days so we are taking this very seriously and will make decisions on facts and data not on emotion.

Point well made. Sometimes you just get fed up with it all. Don't blame you after all you've been through.

we had a conversation with our G.S extended warranty rep Re our two leaking holding tanks.. They were very helpful and outlined exactly what we and the dealer had to do in regard to the Holding tank repair Which is exactly why we called them.

We then talked to Tom the service manager at Town and Country Rv in Clyde, Ohio our purchasing dealer. We have a appointment set up for May the 6th and they will take it from there. This is the first step in determining the integrity of this thing and our decision as to keep it or not.
