TST TPMS Question

I got the monitors installed for the TST TPMS this weekend and am wondering about the display specifics. I got the eight sensors configured correctly and they are displaying fine on the monitor, however for some reason the display is showing a left front sensor ont he truck, which has not been installed. It does not show readings but it does begin the cycle of the tire displays with it every time. Is this some sort of initialization feature or is something amiss with my installation??

Bingo
Go to the set up menu for the wheel locations. Check to see if there are the number/letters for the front wheel. Could have been left from a test or you could have possibly registered the sensor against the incorrect wheel

We have the same reading on the right front. It starts the cycle with the right front of the truck but with no readings, then it goes to the four FW tires.I was wondering the same things. Maybe we will find out....Bill

bncinvw, If you can give me some specific information, I may be able to help you out. What to you have the TST system monitoring and where are the sensors located? Diana

Sensors are on both sets of dually tires and the rig. They are monitoring correctly. I have a phantom tire appear on the display for the left front tv tire, which does not have a monitor. It provides no readings for the phantom tire, just flashes on and off then goes to the readings for the other tires.

It's just reading all the hot air from the driver seat. (just kidding, just kiiding, don't shoot)

I'm interested to see if the pressure is maintained after a few days. I had problems with my TST on the TOAD. I finally took them off and I'm concerned about putting them on the SOB if they don't hold air. I tried what Dan at TST said to do with the teflon tape, and I used instant glue to kee the gauge from rotating on the stem. That way I don't have to use the wrench should I need to take them off. Dan at TST said this would not void the warranty - my warranty is expired now. I just have the monitor sitting in the OEM box.

If you have the 507 model press CODE for 6 seconds. Then, use + or – to navigate to the tire in question. What ever number/letters are there you should be able to scroll through and change them all to the letter F. That is the default setting. When finished scroll through parameter settings, etc til you get to where the thermometer shows up then press & hold SET to save the programmed values. Turn off you system then turn it back on and that tire should no longer be there.
If you have the 510 system: hold the SET key until the monitor beeps. The display will show FFFF. Again, go to the tire in question and make sure it shows all F's. Hold Set Button down for 6 seconds until it beeps! Turn off and back on and again, that tire should no longer show up. I think that will take care of your issue. If not let me know and we'll try again. Diana

Our Pressure Pro sensors have never allowed air to leak out of the tires. I don't understand why the TST TPMS allows air leakage and requires teflon tape on the valve stems. Something isn't right.

I too agree Orv. We've used the TST for over a year of fulltime use and have 12 sensors. We've never had air leakage and had no need for teflon tape. I'm stumped so far. Diana
