3075 Floorplan

We were out looking at 5ers trying to get my wife's sister into a Montana. While looking, we came across the new 3075RL floorplan. I was wondering if it is possible to get into the fridge without putting the slide out. We love our 3400 and intend to have it for quite a few more years, but we are looking ahead to our "retirement" Montana in about five years. Just trying to get the lay of the land. I like some of the new improvements that we saw on the Montanas, including the 0 deg rating.

According to our dealer, the 3075 is identical to the 2980 except for the location of the sink. And, as you saw, the 3075 does not have the extra counter space that is parallel to the long axis of the coach...where the sink is located in the 2980. I asked the same question you did, and was told the best thing to do is rotate the table 90*, that puts the short side toward the counter and makes enough room to get by. Also, the 3075 has a flip up end piece on the counter...maybe with it down, there would be more space.

Does that mean that you can rotate the table 90*? I didn't think that was possible. It was a pretty nice floorplan. I also liked the control center in the basement, the hitch vision feature and some of the extra insulation. Maybe in a year or two we will upgrade.

We were in one of these units over the weekend and the owners said that they had to open their dining room slide a little to get to the frig. The wife also wished she had more storage for big items inside. Otherwise, it was a beautiful unit with upgraded furniture from our 2004.

I love the 3075 floor plan but have concerns re getting by the sink and table without having to use slideout. - Has anyone tried to convert the dinette to a swivel top? I should think you would be able to have a swivel and lock installed on the table so you can have the table lengthwise to get by the sink but be able to rotate it to the normal position. I would like to leave it attached to the floor - any ideas??

Markwick, first of all, you can move the table to any location or position and reattach the table to the floor but just reattaching it with the same screws. It's easy to do.

Secondly, in my opinion (for what that is worth!) I don't think that anyone should be deterred from buying a unit just because you can't get to the frig with the slides closed. If the unit has separate controls for the slides, and I think most of them come with them, it is an easy fix to set the controls so that the slide to the dining room will open ten inches or so in order for you to have access to the rear of the camper. We have traveled for two years using this method and it is simple to do. If you like the floorplan, go for it, and use your individual controls. You open a single slide this small amount in a Wally World parking lot or a rest area without causing any trouble. Your steps stick out that far when they're open.

We had a 2004 3380, which meant we had to get ourselves over the counter to get to the fridge when we needed to. What we ended up doing was making sure we didn't need to all that much. And, of course, (for that reason along with several others,) decided to go with this 3475 floorplan the next year.

But we did look only at models we knew we could reach the fridge with, while not bothering to roll a slide out. Even if it isn't all that big a problem, since we usually end up only traveling about five or six hours a day. My wife likes room temperature bottled water, and I just drink a non-carbonated drink that's OK when warmer, or sip her water if I absolutely must.

I figure that each feature in each trailer we have will lead us to either look for, or shun them in our next purchase. It's all a learning experience. Much of which is sped up by reading the various comments by the many folks here who talk about what turns them on, or off about a specific floorplan.

But I can tell ya…If they dare make a model that requires opening a slide to get to the restroom, I’m never going to check it out!

We had the 3685FL and it was VERY difficult to get to the bathroom with the slides in.
