Need some help

As some of you know, we recently spent a few weeks at the service center.

Today, while running some wire I noticed a rust spot with two holes in the frame on each side of the 5er about halfway between the rear wheels and the back end. These holes are in the underbelly material and it seems that there might have been a metal support from side to side.

Will someone look underneath and let me know what I'm missing? I;m thinking it may be a brace for the underbelly to keep it from sagging, but just guessing.

This picture was taken when I was on my back, looking up and forward on the entertainment side of the 5er.

Any help would be appreciated.

Michael, Check the bolt hole spacing and the foot print and compare it to rear jack. Some new person may have mounted them wrong at the factory and someone else caught it and put them where they belong.

I don't see any bracing on ours. Just the spare tire rack.

I'll check it and let you know.

On Edit - It was where the spare tire carrier had originally been mounted. Thanks for the suggestion, you were right, Mudchief.
